A Little of This and A Little of That…

I have a couple of “peeves” today that are really irritating me.  Not that there’s a right or wrong answer to either of these, but I feel an overwhelming need to put each of them out there, so to speak:

#1) Why is it that as a Nation comprised of so many different cultures and races we are so quick to pull the race card?  Why can’t an argument between a white man and a black man be an argument?  Do we really need go further and give voice to the people who try to convince us that it was one race trying to suppress the other?

Why when there is a rule that states you are not allowed to wear any type of headgear if you want to ride a ride at an amusement park DUE TO SAFETY CONCERNS suddenly it’s because someone is against Muslims?

Why is it that some people think that they are above rules?  That they can say “well that’s against my religion/views/race so therefore I’m not going to abide”?

I really don’t understand how some people operate.

#2) People really need to quit posting on Facebook statuses about Firefighters/Police/Nurses/Teachers/Doctors/Veterinarian/Gas Station Attendant being out there doing their jobs saving lives.  I get it.  I really do.  You have a significant other who is in this profession and you’d like them to receive the recognition they deserve and I don’t blame you for that, but do I really have to post it as my status if I believe it?  Will the world of Facebook look at me as a Peon if I don’t post it and leave it up for 24 hours?  What if I post about the Police Officers because I have a cousin who’s a cop, but then three hours later I see one about a Teacher?  Well, I have a brother who’s a teacher (yes he’s an asshole, but he’s still a teacher).  So I change it.  Then I see one about a Doctor?  Crap!  I have a cousin who’s a doctor so I guess I have to change it again.  Now it’s about someone in the Military.  SHIT!  My cousin’s in Afghanistan so I have to change it again!

I know people in all these professions and I get wanting recognition for your work but if I have to change my status every hour I think I’ll punch myself in the face.

Bored Out Of My Skull

This is how bored I am at work today:

Apparently if I were to become a zombie - I'd be a happy one.  (Because I don't have any other pictures of me on my computer!)

If M and I ever did have a kid this is what we'd end up with.*

(*If this somehow jinks me I will probably shoot myself in the face...)

Yes.  I'm bored and there's nothing to do today.  At all.

For 8 hours....

Blabber Mouths

Please explain to me, world wide web of people, how you can tell someone “Do NOT say anything to (so-and-so), but” and the first fucking thing they do?  Yup.  Run and tell So-and-so what you said.  My “friendship” with Craig is wearing thin.  Very, very thin.

Settle in and let me tell you a little nugget of a story

M has been wanting to get a new job for AGES.  He is so fed up with his current company, and I could go into all the specifics of why and how they suck but that would REALLY take up too much time, so to put it in a bottom line they do not care about their employees one bit and are big assholes.  He told me about a guy he used to work with who works for a different company (same industry installing countertops) and this guy has been calling/texting/facebooking M for days telling him to come into his company and interview because they desperately need people.  M finally gets off early enough to stop by there on his way home and has an interview.  He thought it went great.  Three days go by before he hears from them and they want him to be a delivery driver two days a week.  (Just so you understand, M has 10 years experience in countertop installation.  To be a delivery driver is a HUGE step down for him, not to mention two days a week vs. five days a week installing.)

Something about this scenario doesn’t sit right with me.  Why would someone BEG M to come interview because they’re “desperate” for workers, but then offer him a delivery position for part time?  My honest thought is that they offered him much less than he’s making now and he turned them down, but doesn’t want to tell me that thinking that I’m going to be mad at him.  You’d have to really know M to understand how plausible this possibility is.

Craig knew that M applied for this new job, and Craig asked me last week if M got the job.  I told Craig, and I AM quoting here “Do NOT tell M this, but I think they offered him much less than he’s making now and he turned them down so he told me they offered him a delivery position instead.”  I then went on to explain to him why I thought this and repeatedly told him, “Do NOT tell M that I said any of this.”  More than once, more than twice; at a MINIMUM I said it 4 times.

M called me as I was getting into my car Wednesday after work and the very first thing he said to me was “So I hear that you think I’m lying to you about the job.”  FUCK.  I’m going to FUCKING kill Craig.  I had to smooth ruffled feathers and twist what I’d said so that it didn’t sound so bad.  I know you should be able to tell your spouse/significant other everything, but that’s just not always possible.  How could I tell M that I didn’t believe him when I thought that he was changing the story because he was ashamed?  He would have been devastated if he thought that I believed that he couldn’t provide for us.  Which isn’t the case, but that’s what it looks like.

I’m fucking done with Craig.  I’ve been waiting to see him here at the office so I could lay into him about keeping his fucking mouth shut when he’s asked to, but of course because he’s no longer in the office anymore (at least until mid-December) because he’s on a jobsite during working hours I don’t see him regularly anymore, and he hasn’t been in the office since before Wednesday.  And I can’t say anything to him at bowling tonight because M will be there and I can’t have him know that I did actually tell Craig that I thought he was lying about the job.  Having had to smooth ruffled feathers and all

I will say this though; there will be no more covering for the Asshat with the boss anymore.  Craig always has “meetings” in which he has to leave early and doesn’t return.  However, if you happen to call him while he’s supposedly “in transit” you can hear either A) his dog barking in the background.  B) Beth’s mother in the background.  C) Katelin in the background.  So, since Craig can’t keep a secret to save his life neither can I.

Fight fire with fire and all that crap

First Day Jitters...

First Day of School!!

It's official.  I have two kids in high school.
Wasn't I just in high school a couple years ago?

Kiley Ann

Booger Cookie Kaka!

Lianna Michelle

Lianna being goofy

I love how they both insist that they are not their sister and that I'm not to treat them the same, yet they both choose to wear grey on the first day of school.  I had nothing to do with that!  Also notice how their hands are in the same placement in front of them too...

(Oh, and if you can convince Li to wear a strapless bra when she wears shirts that have a sleeve on one side and a strap (like the "chain" strap here) that'd be great.)

All Excited About Nothing!

(I wrote this last night but then couldn't get my computer to connect to the internet to post it.  Happy Sunday, Everyone!  I'm off to watch Pre-Season Football!  It's the only time I get to watch and ask questions, and M doesn't want to throw the remote at me!)

I hate it when I get all excited about something and then I realize that the age old adage “nothing in life is free” smacks you in the face!  I was messing around on the computer, because I’m bored as hell this afternoon, and found this site where you can supply a copy of your own handwriting and they’ll turn it into a font.  So I got all stupid giddy thinking that I could create a font that looks like my handwriting YAY!  I went through the whole thing of writing down the alphabet in both caps and then in lower case, writing 0 9, and all sorts of symbols, writing the sentence “the quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog” several times so they had a sample of my actual handwriting, etc.  I get it all done and scroll down for instructions on how to send it to them (should have done this first!) and I realize that they have so many samples sent to them on a daily basis they absolutely cannot get them all done and it’s a crap shoot as to which ones they chose to create fonts for.  Le Sigh

Well I spent all this time writing it out I may as well send it.  I figure it’s at least got a 50/50 chance of making it into a font I can use.  However, they list a website where you can automatically get a sample of your font.  So I click over there and get so excited about getting a font again that I don’t bother checking the entire site first.  One would think I’d learn but apparently I like to be disappointed!  I printed out their template, filled it out with everything including the crazy copywriters symbol and others similar, scan it, submit it, and my sample font comes up!  YAY!  I love it!  It looks just like my handwriting!  I click on “download” and I have to pay $10.  LE SIGH!!!  I’m not shelling out moola for my own handwriting.  Not that someone who creates a font based on my handwriting doesn’t deserve money because I’m sure that it’s not easy to do (Duh, or I’d have figured it out already!) but this website came up with my handwriting within 1 minute!  Do they have a little dude inside my scanner/computer whipping this shit out?!

I think I’m going to go open a bottle of wine and see if I can find a way to do this myself!  Wish me luck!!!

(I haven't yet been able to figure out how to make my own font, but I did manage to empty two bottles of wine during the course of the evening.  Oh my...)

The One With All The Pictures

I know you're DYING to see the photos I promised so here they are.  (I also dug out photos of Ki - a little tardy to the party but whateva!!)

Yes that's me.  And my Asshole Hair.

Our high school Homecoming Bonfire.  I know I was pissed about something in this photo and that we were sacrificing Barbie heads into the fire that night.  Go figure...

Ki-Pie and Pri's cat.  Ki had to be about 2 1/2 here.

With the Easter Bunny at Day Care.  I think she was either 3 or 4 here.  Probably 3.

She has always been such a ham...  I think she's about 2 here.

Even though I had these in chronological order on my computer, Blogger's upload put them in differently.  This was last years school picture.  Ki's 13 here.

Kiley Crazy Eyes - She's about 3 here.

This was Disney World in November 2001 - She's 4 years old here.

Thank god for the date stamps on some pictures!  This is hell trying to figure out how old she is in each picture!  She's 3 here and this is our Family Christmas Party.

First day of school - I think she was in 2nd or 3rd grade so that would make her 7 or 8?

This is Halloween (Obviously.  Unless you think I dress my kids like this on a daily basis!) and she was about 6 here.

Kiley posing on a local hiking trail - I think she's about 5 here.

Kiley with my parent's dog, Henry.  How Ki loved Henry. She used to crawl under her bunk bed and fall asleep.  We'd find her there with Henry curled up next to her.  I think this is the same Family Christmas party as the earlier picture, which would make her 3.  If not then she's probably about 4.

Falling Face First...

I was just making my way through some back-blogs of some very funny bloggers when I came upon an exceptionally funny blog on Oh, Noa.  This chick is funny.  As she says, she’s funnier than your Grandma; which she is.  I love my Grandma but damn.

This particular post was about falling and the different types of fall-saves there are.  She asks about the funniest fall you’ve ever had.  I personally can’t remember any specific falls I’ve had because generally speaking I’m not too coordinated on land so there are many, however, this post did make me think about a time when Li was about 18 months old

She was following a beetle around on the ground in the kitchen.  I remember thinking that she looked funny scooting around with her butt up in the air when the beetle decided that it’d had enough of this human child trying to pick it up and it darted under the refrigerator.  Li was a little perplexed as to how to see the beetle now.  She ended up kneeling down with her face on the ground peering under the ‘fridge.  I guess the beetle wanted revenge because it came running out at her.  She was so freaked out that she jumped up, turned around and ran face first into the wall missing the doorway by about a foot.  Just thinking about this has me laughing!!  I’m such a horrible Mother!  My kid just smashed her face into a wall and I laughed!  My ass off!

This also reminds me of the time I lived in Indiana when Dan & Pri were my neighbors.  We were over at our apartment and we were drinking.  For some reason I decided that I was going to run down the hallway in my apartment and out the front door.  However, I failed to open the front door and only realized that I would hit the door moments before I connected.  Being drunk (Don’t judge - I was 20 yrs old) I thought that this was the funniest shit ever and proceeded to do it again and again.  I don’t remember much else except that Pri thought it was hilarious and mentioned it on Facebook just today!

Trips down memory lane can be fun!!  If you feel like reading a really funny blog, go visit Oh, Noa.  You won't be disappointed.

If I Can’t Win Then I Won’t Play

*My fonts may look a bit wonky because I’m trying out different fonts and I believe that if you don’t have the same font in your computer as the one I’m using I think your computer will change it to a default.  Just an explanation! J

First off I know you are just sitting on the edge of your seat waiting and hoping and praying for a photo of me in my shaved head, brown/black hair gloriness (is that even a word?) but you’ll just have to wait a little longer.  I found the PERFECT photo last night that highlights all this hairy goodness but until I can figure out how to scan it without my scanner changing it to black and white, you’ll have to wait just a little while longer.  It loses some of if its majesticness in black and white.  (I am TOTALLY making up words today and I don’t care, and I didn't realize until I was looking for my pictures that Rihanna and Willow Smith have totally jacked my high school look.  I was saving my head way before they made it cool!)

In other news I’m super irritated but trying to keep positive.  Bowling season starts again on the 26th.  I started bowling last year as a way to keep touch with M during the winter months.  He bowls on two teams as well as plays poker nearly every weekend so joining one of his bowling teams is a way to do something WITH him once a week as opposed to sitting home by myself two of the three nights a week.  Last year our team consisted of Craig, Beth, Paul, M and me.  This year Paul and his wife Nicole decided to switch spots Paul would stay home with the kids and Nicole would get a night out.  She’s a stay at home Mom so I get the need to be kid free for a couple hours once a week.  I found out that Craig’s two neighbors want to bowl as does Justin (from Justin and Melissa of a couple posts ago) and Beth’s brother, Jim.

Suddenly I’m hearing that Craig is splitting up our bowling team into two teams to accommodate these newcomers.  I would be cool with Craig helping them to start a new team but instead I’ve heard that he’s splitting up our current team.  I’m not down with this.  I’m keeping my cool until I talk to Craig myself, because I’ve heard two separate team lineups so I’m not sure if either are correct.  The first one had Craig, Beth, M, Nicole and Justin on a team with me on the other new team.  The second I heard is M, Beth, Nicole, Jim and Artie (One of Craig’s neighbors) on a team leaving Me, Craig, Justin, Arti’s wife (I can’t remember her name) and a random person as yet to be named on the second team.  Then last night I heard that Craig never told Nicole that Justin is bowling so she’s pissed and isn’t bowling now.  (She and Justin dated YEARS ago and she can’t stand him.)

I heard that Craig and Beth want to bring home as much money at the end of the season as they can which explains the reasoning for them splitting up onto two separate teams, but that’s just stupid.  Even if your team places first in the league you don’t bring home enough to cover what you spent all season.  These separate stories are a big reason why I’m not flying off the handle but I maintain that if I’m not bowling on the same team as M there’s no point in my bowling because my whole purpose in bowling to begin with is gone then.

P.S. Re-reading this post makes me realize how completely stupid and childish my friends and I must seem.  But I don’t care.

Back In The Day

I completely understand the need for expressing your individuality; however you’re “individuality” in the workplace shouldn’t look like you just woke up.  I went to the bank on Thursday and the lady behind the counter seriously looked like she’d been in a cat fight three minutes before I got there.

I desperately wanted to share this bit of fashion forward thinking with you, but I figured that whipping out my phone to take a picture of her would probably end up with security escorting me out, so here goes my best description instead:  She had the top half of her hair pulled back into a small spring-loaded clip.  (I call them butterfly clips.)  Then the rest of it was pulled back into a VERY messy ponytail.  This wasn’t the end of it.  It then looked like someone had grabbed her by her bangs and the side of her head and pulled - hard.  I’m not talking about a little pouf on the top, it was like someone was pissed when they grabbed it.  She then shellacked the hell out of it with about a half can of Aqua Net.

She seriously looked like she’d either A) Just rolled out of bed after a hard night of partying or B) Had just gotten into a fight with someone who likes to pull hair.

I don’t get it.  If I’d come to work looking like that I’d be sent home.  My office is pretty damn laid back I wear jeans and sneakers to work of cripes sake but there’s a line people.  A line you shouldn’t cross no matter what.  Brush your damn hair!

I’ll have to post here sometime the pictures of me my junior year of high school.  I use to shave my head.  Not all of it but half of it.  When I was in high school it was “cool” for girls to shave the underside of the back of their head.  On any given day you’d see 489 girls with their hair in pony tails but the back of it was a shaved mess.  But not I my friend.  No way.  You wouldn’t find ME following like a lemming.  No I had to shave my hair a different way to show my individuality.  I shaved the sides of my head.  Remember those banana clips of day’s gone yore?  Now imagine that sitting up on the top and back of your head (those things were huge, weren’t they?) but the sides of your hair from your temples to a point at the nape of your neck was shaved.  To the skin.  Yes, I was my mother’s pride and joy.

Add to that the fact that I once died my brown hair jet black and I’m surprised I had any friends.  In my defense the dying of the hair black was a mistake made by my friend who was in cosmetology school.  I was supposed to have my hair dyed dark brown & my other friend, who’s naturally dark brown, was to go black.  Jori mixed up the dyes once they were out of the boxes.  I thought my hair looked dark when it was done but decided that it only looked so dark because it was so wet.  When it dried both Tina & I realized the mistake but it was too late to correct it.  My mom about had a heart attack when she saw me the next day.  I’m pretty pale to begin with so the jet black hair made me look like death warmed over.

After much discussion with a professional hair dresser we decided that stripping the color out would leave me bald due to all the damage to my hair from the chlorine and the numerous die jobs previously.  Holy crap did I look goofy when I was growing out!  Picture this:  Shaved sides, brown hair up to the ponytail and the ponytail was black.  It was 6 years before I cut off the last of the black.

I’ll leave you with that beautiful mental picture  And I’ll try to find some pictures to post with this so you can see me in all my high school glory!!!

Handshakes

Li wants to get a job.  Correction she needs to get a job if she’s going to get her license.  My rule is that they will have to pay for the monthly increase in our insurance when they get their license.  Not to mention that if she wants to drive my car she’ll need to be able to put gas in it.  There’s no way I’m paying this much for gas for her to tool around with her friends!!

Jobs are scarce in today’s economy.  There are a shitload of people looking for jobs so I know it’s not going to be easy for her to get one.  When there’s a 25 year old looking just to get a job to pay rent vs a 16 year old who wants gas money I think the 16 year old will lose out.

There are a few things I’m trying to instill in her that may give her an advantage though.  First of all, most every job application is done online now.  Or at a kiosk in the establishment you want to work at such as Jewel Osco here which is one of the local grocery stores Li wants to get a job at.  She doesn’t want to work in the fast food industry, but that opinion may change the harder it becomes for her to get a job she wants.

I’m trying to get it through to her that if she really wants a job she can’t just fill out an application online and leave it at that!  She has to then go into the store and ask to talk to a manager.  She’ll then have to shake his/her hand, introduce herself and inform them that she applied and she’s very interested in working there.  This is going to be difficult for Li.  First of all, when she doesn’t know someone and she’s talking to them for the first few times she’ll talk so softly that you can’t hear her.  This is problematic to begin with.  The second is that she has a SHITTY handshake!  She’s one of those people who give what I call the “Dead Fish” handshake.  The limp wrist, fingers only, barley touching handshake.

As far as I’m concerned, whenever I receive this handshake I take it as an insult.  Shake my damn hand!  Grab my hand, not hard enough to break the bones, but a good firm grip, and shake it.  I do not have cooties and if you’re that germaphobic carry some hand sanitizer and get over it.

NO MORE DEAD FISH HANDSHAKES!!!

Vodka...

I have decided that I need to consume copious amounts of vodka tonight.  Preferably vodka soaked cake.  That would be the best cure for this day.  As it is, I have no cake at home in which to soak with vodka so I guess I’ll have vodka with a side of vodka.

There’s nothing quite like arguing with someone who thinks that they can change your mind no matter what even though you are completely in the right and they are so far into the wrong that they need a shovel to get themselves out of it.  I think I know a little about what I’m arguing with you about when I call you up.  I don't go into battle completely unprepared.  And when I tell you there's no leeway with what you want vs what I need - that's precisely what I mean...

This is a random post, I’m aware, but sometimes you just need to vent.  So I’m venting.  And stupid people drive me to drink vodka.  All.  Night.  Long.

So there.

I wasn’t trying to be a bitch it just kind of came off that way

I made a friend angry by inquiring about a personal situation in an around a bout fashion.  I didn't want to upset her directly by asking her point blank.

Quick rundown for you:
·         Justin & Melissa are together for 10+ years.  They have two children together plus Melissa’s oldest daughter from a previous relationship.
·         Justin reconnects with a friend from high school, Kristin.  At the time Kristin was married & the two couples hung out together a lot.
·         Kristin and her husband divorce.  Kristin and Melissa become attached at the hip.  So attached they are that Justin & Melissa (as a couple) decide to invite Kristin into their bed.  (Whatever, they’re adults.  Not what I’d do but I’m not a factor here so who cares.)
·         Melissa decides that this is not something she’s comfortable with continuing after the first time.  Her opinion was “It was fun but it’s not for me”.
·         Justin & Kristin continue to have an adult relationship behind Melissa’s back, and Kristin becomes pregnant.
·         There’s a lot of drama for a while, but in the end Melissa decides that what is done is done and she will welcome the child as Justin’s.
·         Over the course of the next 1 ½ to 2 years Melissa & Kristin’s relationship deteriorates to the point where Kristin won’t let Justin see his daughter unless Kristin’s there to supervise.
·         This causes tension between Justin & Melissa for obvious reasons.

As of last week, Justin was trying to decide whether or not to continue to live with Melissa or if he should move in with Kristin.  He spent 45 minutes following me around the office bitching and moaning about the pros and cons of both sides, and telling me that he had to make a decision by Sunday.  I did not ask for him to do this.  I was working while he was complaining to me and I was trying to get him to go away.  (He is a horrible tease and the more you don’t want him to do something – like talk to me for 45 minutes – the more he does it just to piss you off.)  After he was done going on about it, he asked me what I thought he should do.  At first I told him that I’m not close enough to the situation to make a recommendation.  I then thought about it and told him that if he leaves Melissa he could be jumping from the pot into the fire.  There was no guarantee that living with Kristin would be better than living with Melissa.  I also explained to him that if he leaves Melissa for the one person in this world who she HATES and it didn’t work out between him & Kristin, if he went crawling back to Melissa she’d most likely tell him to go fuck himself.

That was last Thursday.

On Monday I asked him what he decided to do.  Do you know what that fucker did?!  He just looked at me with a shit-eating-grin and told me that he wasn’t going to tell me.  I’d have to wait and see.  WHAT KIND OF SHIT IS THAT?!

I didn’t want to come right out and ask Melissa.  I know that she’s touchy about this and she has been for about 2 years.  I was talking with M about it last night and Li overheard our conversation.  She is friends with Melissa’s oldest, Aireonna, so Li offered to ask Onna what was going on.  Onna told Li that Justin had moved in with Kristin.  Then I got a text from Justin telling me shame on me for having Li ask Onna, and that next time he’ll tell Onna to tell Li something different.

Ok, fine.  Busted – sort of.  I didn’t ask Li to contact Onna but neither did I stop her.

This morning Melissa sent me a message on Facebook saying that her private life is private for a reason.  She’s tired of being the subject of peoples’ conversations and if she wanted to have everyone’s input then she’d post it for the world to see.  She didn’t post it, she’s not going to post it, get over it.

I feel awful that she feels that she’s the subject of conversation with everyone, but the reality is that their life is such a bad reality TV show that no one really cares anymore.  Had Justin not whined to me about it last week and then decided to be all coy about the decision, I wouldn’t have given a crap.  Hell, I wouldn’t have even known.

I’m dropping this subject like a hot potato.  I’m tired of being sucked into their drama without being given a choice. When the pregnancy became public the three of them were the topic of every one's conversation.  Everyone, and I do mean everyone, was talking about how weak Melissa was that she stayed with Justin after he committed such a… for lack of a better word – crime.  That had their significant others done that to them they would have been cut loose.  M and I were the ONLY ones out of the entire group who defended them both.  The way we felt then, and still do now, is that they are all consenting adults.  How they decided to handle the situation was up to them.

I still feel badly about Melissa but I don’t know how to handle it without making her angrier.

Weekend Recap

The brats came home from a week with their dad.  And, yet again, I'm a horrible person and he's a fucking saint.  This used to happen every year after his yearly visit.  They'd spend time with him, he'd let them do whatever they wanted, he'd buy them candy and let them stay up late, then they'd come home and he was the best dad EVER and I was the lowly troll who made them clean their room.  THE HORROR!!  Then I thought that they were finally beginning to see him for what he is - a DEADBEAT who is only involved with their lives when it's convenient for him.  Did I ever get a lesson on Saturday.

Apparently, according to Li, I'm not allowed to say anything negative about him. Ever.  Not that I normally walk around and verbally bash him, but we seemed to be on the same page - that he's no good.  Suddenly she wants a relationship with him and I'm not allowed to say anything even remotely bad about him.  How is that even POSSIBLE?!  According to Li he's making an effort and she wants to have him in her life.  I read it as - he want's something from her right now so he's feeding her chocolate covered bullshit and she's not even questioning it.  Which means in a matter of months he's going to break her heart again.  And I'm going to be the one who has to pick up the pieces.  Again.

To top this wonderful discovery off I found out that he seems to think that simply because he's their dad he can override my decisions.  FUCK NO.  The girls' cousin, Sarah, is getting married at the end of August.  Sarah is SFB's niece.  She's getting married in Rockford, IL which is about an hour from us.  I've given the girls permission to attend the wedding and spend the night in the hotel as they will be sharing a room with two of their other cousins and, I originally thought, their aunt (Sarah's mom).  I gave Li permission to bring her boyfriend, Zac, but that he was not to spend the night.

Suddenly, Li tells me that their dad is coming into town for the wedding and is staying in the room with my girls and their cousins.  Not his sister (their Aunt) as was the original plan.  Not only this but he's told Li that it's ok for Zac to spend the night because he'll be there.  This is so NOT flying with me.  SFB may be nearly 40 years old, but his history of decision making has not been stellar.  He is not what I would consider a responsible adult.  I guarantee he will allow them to drink.  I guarantee he will allow them to do... other things.  Not happening.

I started to tell Li that Zac was not spending the night, she interrupts me to explain to me all the "other" people who will be in the room.  Then I tell her simply "You heard me.  Not an option.  Not happening."  I will need to talk with Zac's mom this week to explain to her the situation, as I know neither of the kids will.  Fun...

Saturday night, M and Ki and I went to the DuPage County Fair.  I haven't been there in about three years so it was nice to walk around.  Lucky for me Ki isn't a fan of carnival rides so I didn't have to worry about spending a buttload of money on that.  We were there for two things:  Monster Truck Show and Lemonade Shake Ups.  We brought our flask of vodka and instead of Lemonade Shake Ups we got Cherry Limeade and added the vodka to that while we watched the Monster Trucks.  We saw the animals, fed some goats, M got his funnel cake and hot sauce (he's a hot sauce addict - the hotter the better), and I got a grey tile with "The Ass Family" on it.  They had a man, a woman, and two girls and we are respectively labeled as - Wise, Smart, Lazy, and Kiss.  I think it's cute, M is upset that the stick figure man is wearing a tie.  I dont' care.  It's not for him anyway!  It's now hanging in my kitchen above my sink.

 Monster Trucks
Baby Goat - He couldn't eat without being rammed by a bigger goat with horns.
 I FOUND THE EASTER BUNNY!!
Poor goat has two casts on his legs...
A County Fair in the heart of the Midwest isn't complete without a Camel.  I named her (him?) Sally.
"Sally the camel has one hump. Sally the camel has one hump.  Ride Sally ride."  Remember that song?!
This is where farm animals belong.  Behind a fence.  So they can't EAT YOUR FACE.

My friend has photos of her with a deer at some place in Wisconsin Dells where the deer roam free and get fed by park goers.  In one of her pics the deer is not interested in the photo op but in eating her hair.  It looks like it wants to eat her face.  It creeps me out.
Creeps.  Me.  OUT.
